Mankato, MN - This year, 2006 marks the 100th Anniversary of one of Southern Minnesota's oldest family-owned and operated businesses. Schwickert's, a Tecta America Company, is celebrating its centennial year with a series of community initiatives and employee recognitions.
Founded three generations ago, Schwickert's today holds true to the same commitment set forth by George Schwickert in 1906: quality products and service at a reasonable price are key, to customer satisfaction and a sound business.
Schwickert's opened as a hardware store in Waterville, MN. It has since expanded its services to include commercial roofing, mechanical, architectural sheet metal fabrication servicing the upper Midwest region. In addition, Schwickert's Home Services division includes plumbing, electrical, roofing & gutters, heating, air conditioning, service and maintenance.
Exceeding customers' expectations has been instrumental in building Schwickert's reputation as one of the premier contractors in the upper Midwest. Schwickert's management credits this success to its talented and highly-skilled employees. Schwickert's design/build teams work closely with clients to ensure clear communication, accurate information, coordinated efforts and mutual accountability for optimal results. Senior management researches products and techniques thoroughly before selecting manufacturer's goods to meet customer expectations. Additionally, Schwickert's employees have established an award-winning work environment for themselves, recognized for its safety planning and accident prevention programs.
Company officials are also quick to point out that Schwickert's owes much of its success to the community. "This community has entrusted us with their homes, their businesses and factories, their schools and much more -- and we pledge to uphold that trust for the next one hundred years."
Schwickert's will celebrate its centennial year with a series of community recognitions. In addition to annual contributions of volunteer time, services and monetary donations to area organizations, host a grand-re-opening of the company's new facility at 221 Minnesota Street, Mankato; contribute to Habitat for Humanity's 2006 initiatives; and recognize its staff and their many professional and community contributions. Events will be scheduled throughout the year; announcements can be found on Schwickert's web site, www.schwickerts.com.
